Frank Metz

BORN 1926

Born in Philadelphia, Frank Metz studied Advertising and Design at the Philadelphia Museum School. He spent a career as Art Director at Simon and Schuster Publishing. Metz is a highly accomplished painterly realist. His subjects are the beaches, marshes and ponds of Maine and Vermont.

The artist’s handling of paint as color, paint as light is exemplary. Metz’s forte is skies,
he graces the heavens with mauves and peaches, lemon yellows and even ochres.
