Robert Dyer

Bob Dyer comes from a long line of Vinalhaven Maine, fishermen, boatbuilders and stone cutters. His love of Maine is apparent in the emotional intensity of his paintings typically painted from life.

Finding straw and forest debris literally in his paint is not uncommon, bold slashing brush marks in heavy paint applied directly to the canvas, weaving a matrix of color and light typify a Dyer painting.

Showing his work at Frost Gully Gallery has been a goal of Bob's since returning from New York City in 1990. Bob says, “To be shown alongside such talented peers has been a great privilege these last 4 years and I look forward many more.” We certainly do as well.
